Hand guard wind deflectors....

Do you mean the standard GSA ones or the extra Touratech thingies that go on top?

If it's the standard ones then yes they are great. They keep the majority of wind / rain off your mitts. :thumb

Dunno about the TT ones though :nenau

The Touracrap ones do a good job as long as the extra spoilers are fitted to them.

They ain`t worth the 'new' price though,so scan about for used ones or fit modified Polisport/UFO ones.

Just fitted the Touratech hand guard extenders onto the standard 1200GS hand guards and they work very well :thumb

Keep your hands dryer and warmer without creating extra wind noise.

Used these on previous GS's as well and tend to take them off again in the Summer as they work too well.

For the cost - I would certainly recomend them for winter use :)

They even turned up next day which is a first for Touratech and so must be a stock item

I agree with Paul - I fitted them to my Dakar a couple weeks ago - they've been great. Even in the cold and wet, I am still wearing the lightweight Rallye gloves... although I have been using the heated hand grips ;)

TT extensions on my 1150 also. Still in summer gloves, not yet used the heated grips.

Last year wore summer gloves and used heated handlebars all but a couple of days.

THANKS guys, looks like the bike will be getting even heavier!!!!! :bow :beerjug:

Do they work well enough to justify buying them? :nenau

I found them of little discernible benefit on my 1150Std or GSA - and if you're thinking why did he have 'em on both then? I just transferred 'em from one to the other. Now what are good for winter use are the Wunderlich foot flaps - have to take them off in summer or your feet roast - which is just what you want in winter :thumb , & they stop water spraying directly onto your boots so help keeping feet dry as well.

Bikes now heavier still Edd ;)

I have a set of the TT spoilers, extension bits for the 1150 if you want to make me an offer, but only £17 new so up to you but I won't be fitting them back on.

Have you got a buyer yet? If not PM me. Thanks

IMHO they do not work (1150GS) ie. no discernable difference compared to std handguards minus extenders.

They are now sold.

I don't need them as I use a ncie set of Steptoes muffs for the winter and no need in the summer although I did find they helped before I decided to go down the muff route
