OK, been thinking about how to tidy up the engine on the GS and the only really sensible option would be to hand paint it.

Anyone else done this? What paint and how did it come up?

Any help appreciated. I thought i had read something on here a while back so i did a search for 'HAND PAINTING ENGINE', nothing?

Cheers,

You guessed?

Back Wednesday mate, cant wait to be honest. Signed off till then and company cant accept me back before, H&S gone mad......

WOW, looked good Malc, Spurred me on!

Although i didn't plan to remove the engine, I think if i did i'd go the whole hog and have it done professionally.

I can however get the bike to a state where most of the engine is exposed, then do something like this.

Thanks :thumb

I an 800 engine in the frame with a cheap airbrush. With a wee bit of masking off you can get into all the wee nooks and cranny's quite well.

I sprayed my 1100 motor last year, Hammerite smooth, a combination of partial dismantling and careful masking tape use, it looks a lot better but is still not totally finished :blast
