whatever happened to the much talked about handguard recall?

Has anybody had one or was it a figment of someone's ( I can't use the "N" word) imagination?:bounce1

In France we received a letter saying we must regularly check that they are in the correct position, no recall.
 
I asked in Vines about handguard torques and they just wheeled the bike around the back and did them up. I've still no idea about torques, but after 10 minutes with Penny and Cathy, you've little idea about your name, let alone complicated 'men things' so I left having had an amazing insight into the female mind :eek:

Same here in Switzerland. In addition we got stickers (!) to be put onto the handguards and an addendum page for the user manual. The stickers show the correct position of the guards vs. the levers.
 
yep got my lovely stickers also - the whole lot went into the bin. If you are too stupid to have a quick look and check the brake lights/brakes etc work before setting off then u shouldnt ride a bike
