Hi guys,

Anyone own a handlebar bag that are happy with their purchase. I am basically wanting such an item for my upcoming trip to Italy and Switzerland so that paying at toll booths are easier. Only one that I have found so far is the Tuareg one from HG, anyone got one of these?.
Ideally would like one that is easy on and off so that I can place more valuable items in there and take them with me.

I have seen the small tank bag ones that fix with a bracket to the petrol cap which I really like but don't have the cash to spend at the moment.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have the wunderlich one fitted to my gs, and think its ace, holds me sunnies and pass for work,
it fits well, although it does use elastic bands, and is waterproof, would recommend it to anyone,
but the givi one does look pretty awesome......

Thank you guys so much for your info.

Looks like the wunderlich wins, i do love the givi one though but a waste of cash (petrol) for the upcoming trip, thank you for the tips though.

Safe riding all.

Why not have a look in Italy for the GIVI bag as GIVI are Italian and Very much cheaper there.

ohhhhh :blast never thought of that mate, will have to see if i can.

Thanks for the heads up :thumb

wunderlich do a handlebar bag. I think Touratech do a similar one too.

Also have a look at the low profile touratech tank bag which is really good.

i have both.

Which do you prefer mate and why?

Thank you for your reply btw and all other tossers!

I wouldnt say i prefer any of them

However the handlebar bag is on all the time; keeps a torch, garage remote, work pass etc. I use the tank bag for a day / w/e trip and keep valuables in it.

If £ is an issue, then just get a handlebar bag.

I use the HG bar bag, at a tenner its good value and easy to use with gloves on.
I dont keep any thing of value in it, just visor cleaner, ear plugs, wet wipes(you know it makes sense:thumb)any money i keep in there goes in the old sky rocket if I leave the bike.

Well worth a try for £10 :thumb2

At the risk of being shot down in flames for being a tight arse, I've just experimented this weekend with a free option that involves a plastic water bottle and a cloth glasses case. :augie You could use sticky backed plastic if you wanted I guess.

I wanted somewhere to put my sunglasses quickly and safely (I keep forgetting them and driving off with them on the tank), and also for the toll cards. I had a bit of a moment last week and knocked this up in a matter of minutes! (yes, it probably shows too!)

Simply cut a water bottle down to size (about 3/4 height), slip it into a cloth glasses case (which have the drawstrings at the top), punch holes in it and afix using cable ties to wherever. The bottle keeps the opening clear and easy to get in and out off.

I'll post pics later (if requested nicely!), but it worked really well on my recent trip to Gallipoli. Kept the toll card to hand and safe (even when off-roading), could put my glasses in and pull the drawcords closed for extra peace of mind (though I don't think I need to have worried) and because the glasses case is black, its pretty unobtrusive.

I can attest to the brilliance of L's tight arse solution. I am making one and will scribble Touratech on it to make it look a million dollars, or at least what they would sell it for.
