Handle Bar Diameter

Unfortunately my latest 1999 1150 didnt come with heated grips & I know I'm going to miss them being a softie.
Could anyone advise me on the size of the bars & if a set of 22mm oxford ones would fit ok.According to their advert on ebay 22mm is the size of 99% of bikes .Not so sure about that though.
