Handle bar mount for TOMTOM Rider 2

Hi All

I am considering moving my TomTom from its current position above the instruments to the left hand bar. It's just too much of a stretch where it is at the moment.

Anyone done this? What's the best, most secure method? I'll likely make a CanBus cable so the power is switchable, but apart from that, what do I need in addition to the bits and bobs that came with the original:

Finally, is this a good idea anyway? As always, informed opinion welcome!

Just so we understand, LHS of clocks on the oval rail ?, if so then from where to where is the new location sited ?

The bits in the kit will go around the oval rail, but I prefer to use cast bracket in RAM-B-231Z, but the straight you have should work, and you have 1" u-bolt and black shim .. partial reply based upon clues so far .. more clues

Have had mine there from day 1 on my 1150. I haven't tried it anywhere else as I'm perfectly happy with it there, all clocks, gauges and warning lights still clearly visible. And I didn't need any extra bits at all

The device is mounted thus:

Ignore the Touratech cockpit cover though - I had a couple of these which suffered from peeling powder coat, so I dispensed with it.

Thanks for the pictures ... looks good to me - I'll have a proper look at the fittings I have and see if a similar arrangement will suit my bike.

Paul,
I see you have a tank bag fitted, you may have to raise/rotate the connecting bar more to the vertical position to give you the necessary clearance; it's almost horizontal on mine.
