Got myself some handle bar risers to increase my comfort and ride position, but quickly noticed that on left hand lock the stretch on the throttle cable caused it to rev uncontrollably ............do I need a lenghtened cable as well, or am I doing something wrong?!!

Cheer for any advice

does the cable look tight on full lock if so reposition if that dont work start looking for a longer cable doing what you describe is a mot failure if the bike is old enough.
With a name like crack n thump and coming from colchester i could hazard a guess at what you do?:augie
p.s can you still spot the swirl in the right conditions:D

I fitted Rox Risers, which give a 2" lift. To get around the throttle cable problem I rerouted it. No need to get a longer cable if you do this. I'll try to post a pic later today.

Thanks for all advice.
I've removed the risers for now. Weaving in and out of traffic at max revs required just too much clutch control. That plus watching the "beast" spinnning down the road on its engine bar one frosty morning. Means its parked up for the time. But will investigate all options before "forking out" on longer cable.

Cheers

Can still see swirl on a hot day. ....... and had plenty of that over the summer!!:augie

wot summer was that it would have been more a case of watch my tracer:nenau

Who's risers are you using?

I had a conversation with the guys on the Touratech stand at the NEC about this very point and they assured me that a little bit of fettling and re-routing of the throttle cable was all that was needed.:thumb2

Sorry I can't be more specific about how they did it.

I can....I've got this little job to do once it warms up a little (don't have any issues with riding in the cold but my garage is feckin' freezin!!!). A mate of mine did his a couple of months ago - essentially it's "just" a reroute of the throttle cable ABOVE the current position (it's neatly zip tied to a whole bunch of wiring heading north). Once you've freed it up it should pop out of the housing easily enough - then you can re-route it pretty easily. About 30 an hour all told.

Enjoy! :thumb2
