hello all,

this morning i've rotated the handlebars on my 1150 forwards a bit - the problem is i can't find a way of rotating the switchgear back a little to compensate! there must be a way of doing it, has anyone else?

regs,

pr0ne

I did the same thing on Sunday and was about to ask the same question, as I want to a) alter the switch / lever positions and b) stop the hand guards filling with water when it rains which sums up May 03.

'fraid I don't the answer to moving the switch gear, but to stop the hand guard filling with water I drilled a 3mm hole at the lowest point. Simple, but it works a treat.

switch gear alteration

Im affraid you have take a fair bit off to get to the clamp bolt which is behind the cover.
left side remove the handguard and bar end then peel the grip back this will expose two screws,if you have H/grips do not pull the grip off the bar otherwise you will break the wires.
Once you have taken the screws out you are now looking for the two screws that hold the choke assembly to the cluster take these out and slide the choke assembly towards the end of the bar you only need to move it an inch.
You will see a little hexhead screw, take that out and the big philips screw which is visible on the back of the main cover near the master cylinder then take off the cover underneath the cluster'two screws' and it should come off reveiling the clamp to move your cluster where you want it.
be VERY CAREFULL when you do it up as it forms part of the master cylinder,it's cast and if you break it you will have to buy the whole lot which will be a lot ££££££.
The right side is very similar any probs just pm me.Andy
