Handlebar cross brace

Thanks to LBL (for his help) I now own one... There aren't many left according to dealerships,(few left in germany) so if you want one get one soon!

What are they for? - somewhere for me to rest my left arm on long journeys, a place to zip tie my phone on to, travel pillow when camping...

I think they look excellent too

Hi
I was wondering what's your thought on this I don't have a brace on the handle bars of my new bike BMW 1200 GSA 2008 Do you think the handle bar brace will cure the numb right hand I'm getting when riding.
I also have a 1150gs 2002 and it's got a brace fitted on the bars and don't get the numb hand problem on that bike?
The 1150 also has larger grips fitted was also thinking of changing them on the 1200 for the same type

Cheers

You need what's called grip puppies which will help the numbness.

I have a 2006 ADV with the bar brace and I still get a numb right hand on occasion. I made my own version of grip puppies on my last trip out of some pipe lagging and electrical tape:thumb

Thanks for that advice just been playing with a version of that using a foam off cut of carpet underlay.

I've got a handle bar brace on my DRZ 400 which I'll fit as a temp measure and see what difference if any it makes

Check the throttles are balanced. As that affects vibration.
Mine vibrated more than normal while the old black case coils were going down. Both failed gradually at almost the same time.
If your coils smell of burnt insulation you probably need new coils. GS-911 cannot directly see a coil fault but other symptoms will indicate.
The cross brace helps but not much.
I have 3mm sorbothane wrapped around the grips. It's held on with heat shrink sleeve intended for snooker cues.
Rox anti vibe risers worked well on a Japanese four cylinder but had almost no benefit on the GSA. And they gave too much rise for me.
Fasstco anti vibe handlebars are designed for MX bikes to absorb road vibration. Not low cost.
