How tragic to think that while some of us were having a great time on our bikes, a fellow biker had just lost his life in the same area. :(

'twas good to see you too, John although I nearly missed you thanks to your new svelte like physique :D Someone else has also metioned a future run in the NE and I for one would be up for that. It was a great turn out yesterday from the Geordie and North East lads :thumb2

Apologies for ommitting you from the "Scottish" list. It's now been fixed :thumb2

Great pics, guys :thumb and good to hear it was such a big turnout - but worrying to hear about two fatalities in the area in a short period. :(

Al :)

"Click" are you ok "Click" hows the bike "Click" do you need a hand "Click"

I just don't understand these people at times:augie

Kai will confirm that I did ask him if he was ok first, then then I said, "Im sorry but this bit is compulsory" as I fumbled for the camera.
Spy in the camp ? I think we should rename him 'Kai in the bank'

Sorry if I have offended one, I was assuming that we were all tarred with the same brush:P

I just shouted to Wizard "don't touch the bike and assume the position" when he drapped his.

I also have a feeling that this will come back at me and bite me on the proverbial arse:augie

I nearly ripped all the muscles in my arms and back when coming close to a topple at the Glenelg campsite, I could feel the beedy eyes of Forry burning into me and sense his reactions of a wild west gunslinger for his camera

There must have been an accident after you guys left because the road from Selkirk to the Glen Cafe was closed at the Gordon arms in the afternoon.

Dreadful to hear this as I was telling someone yesterday morning that two bikers were killed last year just by the Gordon Arms.

We also crossed there at the junction to take us to Innerleithen. I always take a good look to check at that spot!

Kai

The crash, involving a black Yamaha motorcycle and a blue Nissan Skyline car, happened on the A708, Selkirk to Moffat Road near to St Mary's Loch at around 12.15 on Sunday (April 15).

I remember a black Skyline parking up at the Cafe not long after we arrived it had a few attempts at parking on the uneven ground. Anyone else remember it?

Stumpy

I remember it thought it was more blue than black.
You've got to be really careful along that way lets hope it doesn't happen again :(

Press Office

The man who died in the fatal road traffic collision on the A708 yesterday (15 April), has been named by police.

Thomas Maguire, 60-years-old, from Bay View, Amble, Morpeth, died at the scene after colliding head on with a Nissan Skyline travelling east.

I remember it thought it was more blue than black.
Yup, I thought it was dark metallic blue.

We must have just missed the accident by minutes when we crossed the junction.

This is the only bad thing about biking far to many accidents i'm really glad we didn't come across it.

Great pics and looks like a great run out. Something very impressive about a line of GSs blasting along the tracks :)

Sorry to hear about the motorcyclist losing his life on the borders, so sad when a biking Kamerad loses his life. Sympathies to the family :(
