Hanger bracket missing.

Hi everyone.
I fitted a BOS full system today to GS adventure, after a difficult undoing due to silencer not wanting to separate from catalytic converter section. Now all done, but when fitting system to bike I have discovered that the hanging bracket is missing.I have looked everywhere but cannot find it. Anyway there is no support now in the mid section as the header and tailpipe bolts are holding system in place. It feels very tight and snug. Does anyone know if is it OK to leave like this or should I source a hanging bracket.

If it is decated then yes it will be OK. It's a lot lighter without the cat. If it still has a cat then your probably better to sort something out with a bracket.

Thanks Mark. Yes it is decated so hopefully light enough. Some weight in the cat that came off. Some weight the stock system.

I've recently fitted the BOS system (and removed it again) and this is the bit you are missing.
The tab slips under the nearside clamp and the ring end goes where the original goes.
It's a bit lighter than an original system but I don't think it'll cause any problems not having one. Make sure the clamps are tight. I'd recommend using and exhaust assembly paste such as Holts Firegum. Get it in Halfords.
Makes the pipes slip together smoothly and cuts down on air leaks.
BTW nothing wrong with the BOS system, easily fitted, just found it a bit too loud for me. It's my age y'know.

Hi Rob. That is the piece in photo thanks. I might get some firegum as you say will help eliminate air leaks. Thank you for being spot on.

Xtreme Stainless use silicone sealer to seal the tube joints. It helps to stop the stainless galling and jamming the pipes together.

Gun Gum is more permanent so you could struggle to separate the pipes in the future.

It's not Gun Gum. That's for repairing holes in the exhaust. It's Firegum ASSEMBLY paste. It sets, but breaks easily for taking apart. It feels like silicone when applying it.
The guy in Halfords didn't know the difference either.

Ordinary clear silicone WITHOUT mould reducing additive. Halfords RTV would do the job.
