Hants/Wilts trail ride Sunday 27th September??

Hi

Would a pogo outing be appropriate for an inexperienced 800gs rider on TKCs? If so I'll seek permission from the other harf:augie

John,

You should be fine as long as it stays dry, i don't think bakerman is up for doing anything to extreme either.

i also fancy looking for some new trails, so there should be time to catch up while i get confused looking at the map. i'm not planning on carrying the sort of pace during the "hardcore" hograost ride.

Just go at your own pace and see how you get on!

Anyone with a G450x will be safe to come along to- we can always jump start your bike from horse's 1200 :augie

sounds about right, jump starting 450x`s but cant complain as those 450x riders might be pulling me out of the mud:blast

Can I join at Andover on the DRZ?

Cheers,
Jon.

Hmmm, not looking good. I was going to go out on the DRZ for a spin earlier but can't get it started. There spark and compression so I'm reckon it's fuel. Got to go to a BBQ now but will try it again in the morning. However if I'm not at the meet point in Andover by 10.30, please don't wait around for me.

Cheers,
Jon.

if it's been sat for a while it may have stale fuel in the carb. Turn the fuel on and lean the bike right over (or just check it on the ground depending on mood)- crap fuel should come out of the breather pipes.

Alternatively, drain the float bowl (this will also cure the stale fuel issue to)- you may have water in there, which won't help. :rob

Hopefully see you tommorrow!

Right O - See you there. Just checked the rendezvous on your map - it's not far so I'll risk numb bum and ride there on the back roads (thanks bakes for the offer of parking though!)

I used to have a problem with my old DRZ - same symptoms - I found it was just not spinning over fast enough - I used to hook an old car battery up if it had been sitting for more than a couple of weeks - would fire straight away.

If anyone is passing Basingstoke give me a nudge if you want to ride over together.

Mike

Hope you have a fun day out, post some pics. Hope to be at the next one if the KTM is fixed and I can buy a bike trailer to tow it there.......

I'll be thinking of you all having fun out there whilst I rebuild the front forks tomorrow.:(

Hi Sorry bit late in replying! Just received the all clear from SWMBO so I will meet up at Andover Shell garage at 1015 - 1030.

Nathan - Thanks for the run today - Brilliant. Especially the forest bit with the single track - (can you point me in the direction of that on Multimap as I would love to go back there before the nights draw in.)

Great to meet up with the rest of the group - sorry no pics, camera batteries died.

Natahn and Crew,
Many thanks for a suprb ride out.It had a bit of everything from fast tracks to twisty stuff.Really chilled out day with planty of stops.Just a great day out and an ideal way to run in the husky.

Sounds like a great day out, sorry I didn't make it guys, The DRZ is being petulant. I begun to doubt my initial confidence about compression so pulled the rocker cover and found that the inlet valve clearance was well out of spec, so I'll get some shims tommorrow and fix that before I do anything else. I've learned the hard way to mess around with only one thing at a time.

Cheers,
Jon.

I enjoyed some fantastic company today- thanks to you all:)

Also thanks to Jay and bakerman for leading when i was running out of ideas/getting lost ect :D

Thanks for a great day...

Although I sometimes think I should sell the 650XC for something lighter - I rode the 83 miles down in 70 mins, it really is a good all rounder
