Just come back from Scotland on my black 2004 GSA, stayed At the Gordale Scar campsite for the first night before riding past Dent and heading for Mallaig, got the Corran Ferry in the evening before riding the coast and staying at a really good touring campsite called Sunnyside Croft, I can highly recomend it. Rode to the ferry terminal the second day at Mallaig and took the ferry to Skye. The ferry was the best bit, spent five hours riding round Skye in the pissing rain and was lucky that the rain stopped as we were leaving and the sun came back out or the road out of Skye was brilliant. stayed at he campsite at Fort Augustus that night before heading to Aviemore and then the down the final night to an awesome campsite overlooking Bamburgh castle called the warren, highly recomend that too. 1500 miles in four days, just had to give the bike a good clean and put 50ml of oil in her and she's back in the garage spotless. Beautiful trip.

Funny you should say that JB. I've just bought a 1200GS and my first thought on riding it was...........not sure if I prefer my 1150 still.

Its mid winter here, so when I flew in from the mud island after a week with mum on the 11th, I quietly packed the bike the next morning and set off to meet the boys, oh yes daytime warmer than the mud island around 20C daytime but 2C at night...

We met at "GARIEP DAM" annual 1150GS/A get together, its a f...big body of water, we froze but it went well :D

Rode back on my own, 400 miles in 5 hours, the old lady was in her stride and loved the "cruise" she is a week 22 1999 model, there were 2 x week 21 1999 bikes there with us.. did a classic 100 mile loop through the Karoo semi-desert.... loverly :beerjug:
