Harley Davidson coming under attack

And they now produce bikes back in Hinckley :thumb2
That's nice to know, what bikes are now UK made? I went on a factory tour about seven years ago. There didn't seem to be much going on other than R+D work. We were told some bikes were being made but i don't recall which.

The special edition bikes plus the Tiger 900

I don’t feel the need to help you. But I’ll just remind about a motorcycle brand called Victory. Made good bikes. Well liked. Plug was pulled overnight on the brand and Indian relaunched. I’d be rather pissed off if the motorcycle brand id purchased yesterday was consigned to history today. JJH

After ‘a bit of a backlash’, HD has removed the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion messages from its website and programmes. Interestingly these terms are becoming increasingly toxic according to some web media analysts.

HD owners really don’t care who makes their bikes at the factory, as long as it’s quality, it’s built in America and made by Americans. One cannot argue with that.

Oh alright, get your point. I’ve lived in blissful ignorance when it comes to Polaris and their doings. Remember Victory, but not their speedy demise 🤔
Did have one of their Rotax powered jet skis though - and that was a blast!!

My mate has sold a few Victory's and look nice bikes.

They were a bit "out there" design wise in their day but are mostly now appreciating classics. (y)
He mentions parts are getting difficult to get hold of.

I was at the about 3 month ago the Friday tour. I was expecting to see loads of manufacture but was sad to find out that:

1. The lines there are for assembly only. The 'kits' for assembly all come from Thailand.
2. The only bit of engineering they do in the UK was finishing the rough cast crankshafts that come from Spain. However, step will be sent over to Thailand in the not too distant future.

They have a paint line but this is for the plastics and tank specials.

The only manufacturing they do is for new model R&D purposes. It's also where they reverse engineer competitors machines.

Everyone knocks off the clock at lunchtime on a Friday so there was no assembly going on (a note for all that want to do the tour).

There doesn’t seem to be much point. JJH

Must admit I like tinkering with mine. Nothing major though.

I said in 2019 that Harleys were for the gayers....After looking for another Harley and diving deep into the culture.
It seems they proved me right.

It all seemed a bit gay to me, the whole club thing, the "macho" shit, all a bit or a LOT gay.

HD`s are for the gayers in my opinion, or those yet to escape the closet.

I care not for responses, as I have done my psychological research and it is all so very fucking gay.

I shall stick with my Buell thanks, it is a proper bike, none of your gay fucking farkles....Just goes like a motorcycle should, the sound of a V twin and the go of a proper bike, no show, just go.
