Me and the wife would love to live there! :thumb2
Neally moved there about 10 years ago.

Just great....Luskentyre beach....hmmmmmm......nice to visit!!... but go when the weathers shite, or in December?????...........Harris far nicer than Lewis. Couldn't live there.

taking a trip up to the western isles this july for a week. not sure what to expect but should be mega as long as weather is good. camping not good in a monsoon. photos of the place look mega.:thumb2

Never been but definitely on my list of places to go

Went a weeks fishing there about 10 years ago fabulous place ,we were based in Harris, but made our way up to Stornoway on the sunday for a pint .Callanish must be seen ,Almandsuie castle (pardon the spelling )is also worth a look. And as Gerrard says the beaches are stunning.:beerjug:

Double peg your washing!
But not on a Sunday!

Went out after the Ulapool gathering of the Clan a while back,
Got lucky with the weather STUNNING :thumb2:flag:flag

my preference is to go to Lewis first then head south to Harris.

1/ You'll be glad what your leaving
2/ You'll be glad when you see what you are entering.

Berneray has a grand machair on it's west side, lovely grassy slope all the way down from the Islands water tank to the sea.:flag

forgot to ask about the midges.......... whats the secret to keep them at bay

1 keep moving
2 Avon Skin So Soft
3 stay in the pub
4 Go to Tenerife instead.

Some folk say eating a lot of Marmite stops them biting you, other folk say they'd rather be eaten alive.:flag

Avon skin so soft......so last year!!

'Smidge' is the stuff, now available pretty widely..or on line.

Most important thing is to take time to explore, otherwise you'll blast down the islands in no time and stand twiddling your thumbs waiting for the next ferry, wondering what all the fuss was about. Park up and have a donder.
