Nothing to do with me, but watched the video and though some on here might be interested.

The sale will be happing at NEC auction, on 7-9 of November.

His Espada looks really tidy in his videos but I was at Ian Tyrrells workshop when it was in for some work. It's not mint close up, although to be fair not many are.
Surprised it was one of the cars he has decided to part with though.

I like Harrys videos. I like his car/bike collection. Used to be an avid Evo reader decades ago.
Mixed views on him and Clarkson as 'farmers' as...on the one hand they explain farming stuff in a proper meaningful manner that most can understand....on the other both are multi-millionaires with various finance streams and I can't help wondering if more of the moronic populace just see them as 'typical rich farmers'?

The farm that my unit is on, they aren’t short of few quid either. Fingers in all manner of pies.

Recent Harry’s farm video featured a new £140k Horsch drill that his contractor was using. That was a 6m baby compared to what the farmer here just had delivered in September. An 18m so has to be at least £300-£350k worth of kit.
They even had it featured in some Farming rag.
They have 3 of the Class tracked combine harvesters each costing in excess of a £1mil. And that’s just scratching the surface.

Somebody recently had asked me if I’ve seen a poor farmer? It is no wonder they all went up in arms regarding the inheritance tax.
Since the Brexit and no subsidies from the EU many have diversified, and started to let their older formally farm use buildings, like the farmer I am renting from. Meanwhile they have rebuilt another farm that they had taken on and moved 95% of the kit and offices over to there.

Unless I've misread your reply, you've proved my point. I know loads of 'not well off' farmers. In fact the majority where I used to live in the pennines, borders of Yorks and Lancs. Small hill farms scratching a living but due to land prices, on paper they are wealthy with farms valued in the low millions, property rich, cash poor....anyway, another thread exists for this rant

In the meantime, 500 family farms or farm businesses have moved out of farming or closed since Labour took power.

Great for food security!

Out of interest, where does Harry’s money come from?

Seems he was buying big fast cars when he was young and Evo and others used them group tests, which is how he got into motoring journalism

Some info on him here...not sure if he started with money but he appears to be a shrewd chap.

IIRC - A lot of it has to do with the timing of setting up and then selling Evo... He sold it right at the peak of printed, glossy media, just before the Internet took over and wiped out large chunks of the print industry.

"you never see a farmer on a bike" is an old saying

he comes from a well off family too. as is often the way

Yeah, I thought that, but on one of his vids he was, as a young man, joining the Evo team as a punter with interesting cars- can remember what it was, but it was a top end car. So he didn’t start Evo, I don’t think, and already had more than one nice car. He also was described as a farmer at that time.

I really like that XJ V12 coupe he’s selling. Wonder how much that will go for.
Blimey! I just looked on car and classic and a standard one (low miles) is £36k. I thought the arse had fallen out of the classic car market! These were £10k not long ago!

I think he said in his round up video after the resto it stood him in at £75k including the initial purchase price, it's since had more spent on it at Tom Lenthall's garage via a new fuel injection system, I doubt he will break even and will probably realise half that or less, then again it is one of the more popular cars in his garage in terms of You Tube views and values of XJC are quite strong so maybe those factors will have a bearing on hammer price, it will be interesting to see what it goes for.

he may have appeared like a punter but according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evo_(magazine) he set up the magazine, bringing in the finance from a bank loan secured on his farm. He had minority shareholders who were proper journalists, including those originally working for EMAP until Performance Car was absorbed into Car magazine.

Harry made money originally by offering to look after other farms so tthe farmers could have a holiday. He did this after completing a course in farming.
Then went on to owning his own farms.
That is how he afforded his first decent car, a Maserati. He then wrote a few articles on it for Performance car.
Then got invited to do a bit more for them where he got to know the journalists.
When performance car closed up he took the brave move of contacting the journalists and financing EVO. It was a fast success, was offered millions to sell but remain as the editor.
His main income now is from the YouTube channels.
