Has anybody fitted an 1150 h'light to an 1100?

(hangs head in shame...) the square headlight on the 1100 is oogerlie......SO 70s dahling...it's the only thing about the bike that makes me wince, otherwise it beats the 1150 and the 1200 into a cocked hat as far as aesthetics are concerned.

OK...I'm shallow......

Can be done, there is an 1100 in the club with one, but he had to change everything. But to me, the square light makes it instantly reconisable that & it's not on the back of a recover truck :hapybnce:

Asked Sherlock's if they had one in stock and they told me that it would all be horrendously expensive and would end in tears. Now I look at it again, that square headlight is damn' attractive!

Try Mitch at Motorrad Services Manchester LtD 07876777007, he may help :thumb2

But she is dirty :thumb

I am also busy doing it on an 1100. You have to replace Everything in the front,

Fender, Lights, Clock Housing (You can use the original speedo, rev counter and RID), new Screen and sub frame.
Original Oil cooler was damaged, so I am using a used one from a 1150RT, It is a little bigger than the 1150GS one, and I had to modify the brackets slightly.

If you have to buy everything new it will surely nit be worth it.

Will post some pics when finished.

(In about a week)

Nope, this project is definitively binned. The square h'light just looks better and better :)

On the other hand, where can I get a front shock with the screw on cap? These can be rebuilt. Mine has got the crimped top

I tried the TT twin lamp setup on my 1100, it looked great, but then I got to ride in the dark with them  I had plans to mount twin HIDs in it but alas there was no room for the rear part of the burners without cutting the headlamp shell about, If I wanted to go down that route again I would get hold of a couple of projector lamps of the appropriate size and mount them in a bit of alloy plate/polycarbonate cut to fit the standard shell, I like my square light again, especially with the HID in it.
