Has anyone come across Lucas Alien brake discs?

Browsing the German Boxer Design website, I came across Lucas Alien brake discs. There is a fitment listed for the R1200GS but no picture. They are also listed on the German version of the Lucas bikersworld site but not on the english version. Price is Euro238 per pair, not sure whether includes VAT. They look very funky and I have to say I am tempted. Have not been able to find a UK importer. I have attached 2 pictures. One bike appears to be a CBR1000RR, not sure what the other is. The aggressive shape should mean that the brakes remain sharp even after extensive town use.
I tried a ukgser site search under lucas alien and got no answers, not even a star wars reference.

They are pretty funky looking disks. I have used Lucas disks and rate them but not these Alien ones. The normal front disk costs just Euro 91 so 238 for the funky space age jobbie seems a bit steep but it would certainly be different.

Having never suffered brake fade on my 1200GS using either standard BMW discs or cheap EBC ones, I have to wonder what difference the funky design would actually make.

Wavy discs have two theoretical advantages.
First, the uneven shape creates turbulence and in theory better cooling.
Second, the waves and slots means that every part of the pad is swept by a leading edge several time per revolution. This cleans the pads and avoids glazing.
My 1200 brakes have never faded but they do lose some bite after prolonged town use. However, my main interest is if I am honest cosmetic as I think they look great.

complete bollox ' theory' - like you need more cooling on a motorcycle, right ?

waves and slots stop warping - thats all. Look at any 2 month old disc with holes in it and not only are the hole edges not sharp enough to cut toast - theyre coated with disc pad material.

a perforated disc - when heated will hold a flat shape better than a solid one.

Thats the only reason - and so you can't send it back asking for a money return when it warps.

oh - and the most important reason - fashion - and BAB's with more money than sense :mmmm

Look like something to be found on a yank chopper to me - bloody gruesome!
Still if you want to spoil a decent bike by spending a fortune on a bit of Chav bling it's up to you!!
