Location
Vienne, France. The sunny bit.
Took a snap decision to sell my 1150 GS and get something lighter. Advertised it for 6,600€ (top price) with the panniers etc and had enquiries from a couple of people.
One came to have a look and after taking him for a ride on it he said he was very interested - he phoned last night to see how I wanted paying and I had to tell him I'd changed my mind and decided to keep it.

Am I mad ?

Cracking looking bike - same colour as mine so guess I'm biased

I like the panniers - which ones are they? Am thinking of replacing my plastic BMW boxes and Givi topbox for something like these.

Looks like a VERY nice bike.

I bought my 1150GS new in January 2002 and it has now covered 53k (I have run 1 or 2 bikes (all now sold) alongside the 1150 and have 'shared out the mileage') but is still in VERY good condition. It has been reliable and I still really enjoy riding it.

If I were to sell it now and then regret it, I could not replace it. Sure I could buy another 10 year old 1150 but it would not be the same.

The 1150 is worth far more to me than the market price, even at top dollar. If I were to sell it to buy another bike, I would have to put X pounds into the equation. Personally I'd rather keep the 1150 and consider putting the X pounds into a second bike.

Best wishes

Mike

Your 1150 is mint and very well specced up, Mike

Enjoyed having a look around it at Hawes this summer:thumb2

Other bikes come an go, the R1150GS stays! Don't sell it, just save up for somthing else, you will still have it when you sell the other bike as it's just not as much fun as the 1150.:bounce1

Yep, you're mad.
Because you considered selling it in the first place.
stunning bike- gotta be a keeper.

I made a snap decision to sell mine and sold it.

Took 3 years but I now have another and won't be selling this one:thumb

To be honest I prefered my blue and white one :blast

I test rode a 1200 last year, did a pretty good deal on a trade in, left a small deposit and rode home on the 1150 GSA :blast spent the ride home asking myself why. Thought about it for a day then called the showroom and cancelled, couldn't get my money back but it was well spent

Hope he didn't come far...who's paying for his fuel?

wise choice to keep BTW. I did that with my TDM900 and wished I never had.
