Has anyone fitted a set of Vern's World beater panniers onto their 990Adv ?

I'm having a look round for a set of panniers to narrow down the 990. I have a set of Gobi's at the moment. I've seen lists of info on Vern's panniers fitted to a "cough" GS...

Anyone had any experience or photos..?
