Has anyone fitted and used a Wunderlich power commander?

Any thoughts as to the improvement

I have looked at other options, but at present would welcome comments on this product

It's an old style product that disconnects your O2 sensors and does a poor job of controlling fueling. I put one on my bike to test and couldn't wait to get it off. Consider dual Innovate LC-2s if you're an electronics hobbyist or an AF-XIED kit if your not. Better control of fueling, full function of your stock ECU.

Thoroughly recommend the AF Xeid units...it has transformed my bike.....just love it.

About £280 from nightrider in the USA. I have no connection with them so trust me when I tell you I have had all the decat headers, end cans, remaps and power commanders and the standard exhaust and headers with the AF units fitted (very easy to do) is by far and away the best option.

The fuelling is much better, the bike a lot smoother with more grunt.....cannot recommend them enough. The local BMW dealer took my bike out for a spin after servicing and couldn't believe how good the bike was.....so much so that he has ordered some for himself.

Cheers

The one I am looking at is slightly different part number 29500-000

Even with slightly different part numbers they all work by disabling the O2 and lengthening the injector pulses--a crude solution that disables the dual O2 functions that you paid so much for. The afxied approach changes the switching point of both O2 sensors such that the ECU accurately calculates new, slightly richer fueling. In other words it works with the ECU rather than against it.

Always wondered what they did. Thanks Roger.
Not cheap either.
I ended up like oldnfat. Not literally, y'understand.;)
Tried all the usual things with the exception of a remap and ended up with a standard exhaust and AF XiED units. Sorted.

I have had two GSA TCs with a power commander, hilltop and AF XIED. First to dismiss is the power commander. The most expensive to set up as you still need a dyno to get fully set up and involves disconnecting the O2 sensors plus allot of cables. Next to go is remap....hilltop will do a great job BUT you can't remove it at a later date and take to your next bike.

The AF units have given by far the smoothest ride and eliminated the emissions power hole at 4500 rpm. If I were to be a bit picky I would say that the hilltop may just deliver a bit more grunt BUT this may be just because the AF units are so smooth.

I am commuting about 80 miles a day on my GSA and have fallen in love with it all over again. I actually find myself looking forward to the commute....can't get over the improvement. I wish others could ride my bike before choosing which route to go because it would be a no brainer IMO.

Just to reiterate, I have no connection with the manufacturer....just a very satisfied customer....and in a deep debt of gratitude to Comberjohn who convinced me to try that route.

Cheers

Is that for the pair or just one unit?

Will they also work in cars?

Thats for the pair. Mind you, that was at a rate $ rate of 1.31 so probably a bit more now....includes postage and import duty. I emailed and asked for a 10% discount which they obliged with. Price quoted here is without the discount.

You can use the innovate LC1 or LC2 on cars as there is more physical room for them. You can program the lambda offsets to suit your needs whilst using the unit to log data to a laptop.
They use a Bosch wide band lambda sensor for AFR data and an output that you can program to simulate a narrow band lambda sensor. to offset the AFR.
I have had an Innovate LC1 for over 10 years which is why I was so interested in the development of the AF-XEID , I new the theory worked.
I now use an Innovate Dual channel LM2 for data logging.

Roger 04 RT started out using an innovate LC1 and I believe that is what he still has on his bike.

That is considerably less than a Dyno remap especially when you factor in 2 tanks of fuel and overnight costs.

And you still have the units when you sell the bike, You may need different cable sets for different models, but that is it.
You only require one unit for an 1100, 1150, 800, etc.
The 2 units for the 1200 are at a reduced rate to keep them competitive.
My AF-XIED `s are on there second bike having now covered over 32k miles.
