Anyone use it as a day in day out bike? Saw a nice one today 6 months old 1100 miles about £4000 ,thinking of changing my T Max for one.I love the T max for its ease of use twist and go and good weather protection too, good in traffic and easy maintainance .It will cruise at 90 but I do like the look of the Tenere.I also have the GSA12 for longer trips but its too big for gridlocked Brighton everyday .So does anyone use one everyday/shitty weather etc,I look at the T Max as like a car but would the Tenere do the same job?:nenau

i doubt it....saw one in the show yesterday, they are tall (i'm 6' with 34" inside leg). Would be handy through town but not like a TMax.

I found the bars low and they come standard with risers:eek, like the look but i think i'll pass on them

use mine for commuting but totally different to the 2 burgmans i have had, scoots are very easy on the brain and pocket, the Ten is very slim, good view over the cars, nippy enough to get infront and frugal, i am glad i bought one its great :thumb2

Thanks in town the T Max Rules!! Had a go on a GS800 today as my 12 was being serviced ,the T Max is better at 70 than the GS 800 which is similar to the Ten,for my needs the T Max stays!!:thumb:thumb

saw a new yellow tmax with an after market pipe today, boy he let rip down the road through traffic, no gear apart from a lid...:moped:

The price has gone up more than a grand in 12 months though.....:(

Timpo.

Good for second hand values for those of us who bought at the old price. Not that mine is being sold for a good few years yet:D

Nowt for nowt a grand price hike then interest free that seems to beat us cash buyers to death !!!
ill take £4500 for mine:D

Bar risers?

Hello,

After an enjoyable (but very sore) weekend hunkered over my tiny little 80g/s, I'm giving serious thought to an alternative for GSer weekends and suchlike. The XT660Z is very close to the top of the list.

One comment that comes up alot is that the bars on the XT are rather low - does anyone know/has anyone fitted bar risers to it and where can you get them from?

Thanks :thumb2

BLL

I did used a set of bar risers I had from a std XT660 they were adjusted to fit a TTR600 so not perfect but they did work ok Still got them if you need a set about 40mm high without looking, yours if you want them for a couple packs of fags, are you doing any real offroading if so when you have a look at one check the flex left to right of the front forks with the front wheel held between your knees and hands on the bars pull left and right there seems a load of flex in the forks to me wich was un nerving when offroading the bars seem to move left to right and the front wheel goes straight weard feeling didnt inspire confidence at all
Sold mine and bought a CCM644 wich has almost no flex at all and is sooooo much better offroad its beyond belief BUT no where as good onroad !!!!!!
just a pointer as I lost a load on the tenere and wouldnt like to see someone else do the same :thumb

it would have been nice to see one of them on the back wheel , if thats not asking to much !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:eek No flex at all in mine!

Do I recall you being concerned about the handling of your Tenere, in a thread on the XT660 forum? Sounds like something was amiss to me. But no matter now, glad you like your CCM.

I'm absolutely loving my Tenere!

Looks a bit wet!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes Y2, I have one, as does Garry H.
I'm not sure where you have heard of the FI problems because this is not true.
The FI is absolutely blob-on with my bike. I have only lowered the FD gearing by one tooth on the front.
The other mod was to fit some Acerbis Multiplo handguards. Future mods will be a single exhaust silencer and a flat seat. The standard seat has a hump for the pillion that get right in the way when riding on trickier trails where weight shifting is required.
A great bike for sub-£5k.
Good looks, 22ltr fuel cell, and excelllent brakes, what else do you need......

Timpo.
