Has anyone regretted trading in their 1250 GSA for a 1300 GS?

Regretted selling my R1250GSA to buy a R1300GSA then regretted selling that to buy a Triumph Rocket which I swopped for a R1250GS TE Trophy.

Regret selling them all. But the urge to buy another bike is always with me.

Think the R1300GSA is the best GS owned to date.

Took a count and it’s been about 30 since I joined this forum in August 2002.

Initially I missed my 1250 ADV after trading it for a 1300ADV . My 1250 had been all over Europe so I had really bonded with it , it had been everywhere with me . The lack of luggage initially was also a hassle but now that has improved, I feel the 1300 is a better bike . It corners really well and feels lighter though it’s not . Give it time and you will appreciate it . I love the looks . The recent MCN write up felt it was a great bike and the natural successor to the 1250 ADV
Evening Robbo. I'm in a very similar position to you - I've done about 150k across 6 1200/1250 GSAs, and I traded my 2022 1250 for a 1300 GSA yesterday. I am very torn - I loved that 1250, and I find the 1300 very hard to look at. I've got one with ACC just because most bikes are apparently specced with it. Not my first choice.

As an aside - I was surprised at both how strong the PX value of my high mileage 4yo 1250 was, and how much discounting there was on the 1300.

For what it's worth from me, I have the ACC and think it's excellent. If you're covering serious miles on motorways, it really helps reduce fatigue.

I have only had 2 GS1250 in the past 6 years. Both mechanically/electrically free of issues . The first one had issues of paint on the cylinders which were resolved and the second ws a Rally with no problems. A great bike to look at and ride, it fitted like a glove to my 1.88m height (6ft 2"). Then at end of three years warranty the dealership said have you tried the 1300GS auto. Well you have to do it , I now have an order in for a new GS1300 with all the active radar, rear collision warning etc etc etc. I am 77 years I thought a little bit of help would do no harm. I had no trouble with comfort or size on the test ride. if I find my legs get a little cramp I shall try lower footpegs. The 1250 Rally was the best looking bike.

No model of any vehicle is 100% reliable.
I consider my R100gspd reliable. I would set off anywhere on it tomorrow. My 1250RT the same. Reliability is a state of mind and hope :D

Must say the 1300GSA ASA is bloody good . Im in Croatia on it at the moment . Just ridden through Bosnia on some pretty small single track roads and it was fab . Rode from The UK through France Germany Austria and into Slovenian and Croatia . It covered distance so well . It is very comfortable with bar risers and. Sargent seat . Just a Shad top box and a small bag bungeed to the rear seat . Make sure you have your V 5 or they won’t let you into Montenegro or Bosnia . I love it and the Auto box is really good ,no regrets now

Yes and No,
I loved my 1250GSA for the way it looked and the seating position as I felt like I was sitting inside the bike but I now love my 1300GS for the ASA and the way it lowers at a stop and i am getting used to the way it looks.
