Shame, it sounds like a great setup. In a word, no.
I don't think they ever did, but post Brexshit it definitely won't happen. There's simply too much bureaucracy to make it viable.

No, as Aiden says, but I saw the run there and back as part of the whole trip, I enjoyed the evenings in Gorey (where they are) and they are flexible about when you drop it off and collect it. If I do it again next year I may take a few days to get there, enjoy small roads.Do Overlanders do UK bike pickups?
Nice roads, though not all in one gearDuring the course of the day shifting up through the gearbox had issues. Sometimes she wouldn't go from 3rd to 4th, or from 4th to fifth. I'm hoping it's down to my new boots and I just need to adjust the gear lever, we shall see. You'll see the bike lurch in the clip below as the quickshifter fails to work. When I try to then manually shift, the lever feels like I'm already in 6th with no travel.
Can I suggest time with new boots is easier than fecking about with gear lever position…..I'm hoping it's down to my new boots and I just need to adjust the gear lever, we shall see.
I’m afraid you lost me at “easy swift snicking on a boxer”Can I suggest time with new boots is easier than fecking about with gear lever position…..
Purely from having bought a new pair of Tech 7 (tall boot) this July, my first ride I couldn’t change-up easily at all. Next ride I wore my SMX-3 (well worn low boot) and back to rattling good fit. Easy swift snicking (for a Boxer) So wore new boots to walk around at home and next few rides their suppleness/flexibility came good and whilst I have to consciously position my left boot under the lever, it is getting better every ride….

Normally the wife or dub24 are with me. Both are fully capable of satisfying my needs both physically and mentally, but this time I'm Billy no Mates. How come your travelling alone ? No pals and have you and dub split up![]()
That's fair enough.Normally the wife or dub24 are with me. Both are fully capable of satisfying my needs both physically and mentally, but this time I'm Billy no Mates.
dub24 and I are taking some time apart to explore new things and I think it will help us to grow stronger than ever before. We've come to realise every relationship needs to include space for both parties, otherwise it can become stifling. Like a pillow over your face or a belt around your neck, or a red ball between your teeth (that one's for you Doc).
The wife stayed home to mind the cats and the dog.
You are far more succinct and concise than I will ever be!That's fair enough.

It was easy to get into bikes when most us were growing up……….it’s not any longer. One of the things I love about taking the bike to Europe is the sheer number of motorbikes that you see. Granted you tend to be in places that are popular with bikers, but nonetheless the biking scene in mainland Europe is huge. Dunno about the UK, but bikers in Ireland are a minority seen as mostly daft by the mainstream folk. Why ride a bike when you can just take a car which keeps you warm and dry whilst you use it. And it's inherently less dangerous too. We're not quite outcasts at home, but we're definitely regarded with puzzlement for the most part.
In Spain I saw toddlers doing track days (biker moms beat soccer moms every time), in Norway lots of teens on scramblers (which they actually owned as opposed to stole), in Italy, Austria and Switzerland lots of hotels that promote themselves as biker friendly with secure parking and even route advice for visitors. Would be great to see motorcycling as a pastime develop like this at home.
Agreed and everyone is friendly, wave etc. Even GS owners. One of the things I love about taking the bike to Europe is the sheer number of motorbikes that you see.
