Have I done something cosmically stupid?

Probably in the office. Again.
Sheesh - I thought I was doing SOOOOOOO well. Put the new set of engine bars on, cleaned the bike, fitted the new Baglux and went for a large gin.

This was last night.

Started her up (1150) just now and she sounds like she's running on 1. Lumpy as anything. Will barely pull at all. Loud noises from the gearbox as well when the clutch lever is out (fine with the lever pulled back). Keeps stalling with the throttle at rest as well.

I can't think how I've managed to f*ck it up so comprehensively just by fitting a set of engine bars and a Baglux and giving the bike a clean.

Any ideas????

Did you take the Tank off.............if so, check the Cables are seated right at the throttle boddies..........

Panic not.

Make sure the throttle cables are sitting in their adjusters correctly. Chances are you've pulled one out and it's now sitting on top of the knurled adjuster and not in it.

here's apic of how it should look. The cable is in the middle, inside of the throttle body.

Thanks Boxer, Coolcarbon - looks like it was just as you said - the throttle cable sitting on top of the knurled nut. Seems to be running a lot better - but I'll try it in the morning when I'm not looking down the end of me second bottle of merlot!

And there was me thinking gearbox rebuilds, new clutches, dead pistons...

Thanks again both!:beerjug:

Right - that's that sorted then. Checked (sober) this AM, and the cable on the RHS wasn't quite snugged down in the holder.

What a difference! Never realised something so (apparently) tiny would have such a massive effect on the bike.

So thanks, Boxer and C'Carbon - that's got to be worth a beer at the Hogroast.:beerjug:

Cheers
