Bath Rd lent me a R1150R Rockster yesterday when my bike was being serviced.

What a lot of fun that was. At first I really didn't like it. It felt much smaller than the GS and the lean-forward riding position really felt strange. But once I got used to it (after about 20 miles of mixed roads) I really started to like it. By the end of the day I was so sad to give it back.

One thing I was quite amazed about was the almost total lack of buffetting. That tiny little bit of plastic in front of the instrument cluster does an amazing job of making sure you only get clean airflow around the head.

If all naked bikes are this much fun I might have to think about buying another toy!

I have the plain R1150R today (compliments of Prestige) and it does grow on you. First impression was 'damn the GS is good', but the more time on it the better it gets. No screen so plenty of wind but not uncomfortable until you hit 80. Would make a great machine for around town and it filters well.

Looking forward to getting the GS back this evening, though.

Not really convinced myself as the only beemer I like is the GS and I'm not really a brand loyal type, always nice to get a courtesy bike to play around on though.

80-85 bhp is alright for a trail bike, but with big fat tyres, stiffer suspension and a lower centre or gravity I think I'd ditch the boxer and go for something with a bit more power.

GS for me is still the best all round bike ever made though.

For a dog ugly bike in the worst colour ever - bronze & matt black I was given one of these with 400 miles up from SPC and told to take it easy. Once I got used to feeling like I was sitting over the front wheel I started to enjoy myself and it took me ages to get from Alton to Andover for a pastie :D

It was a bit draughty but you sure could have some fun with it - it was my first experience of a Remus and it resulted in me getting one..... a remus that is!! But what a disgusting colour, the MBW paint dept has excelled themselves there :barf
