In need of some help please

I'm fitting new head bearings in the x moto and have bashed in the race into the bottom and the bearing seal seems to interfear with the frame so the bearing doesn't seem to sit properly, do i need to have the race in as far as it will go or do i just make it flush to the bottom ? The bearing is not the standard bmw bearing as its from a different set of forks,

The bearing measurements are the same outside and width except the internal measurement which won't make any difference. I think maybe i should have got the bearing with out the rubber seal as the bmw bearing seems to have a metal cup on the bottom of it and no rubber seal.

or failing that i can give the rubber seal a hair cut :D

haha i didn't really bash it in but should i say expertly installed it

Pictures?

I haven't taken any pics.
I am having the bearing pressed onto the stem tomorrow so i should be fitting it tomorrow night and i will get a better idea of how it all fits together. Also the race needs to be fully in upto the lip inside as i have found out. So other than that i think it should be straight forward.:beerjug:
