Not really sure
Well, on saturday just gone, I bit the bullet got into my nive freezing cold garage and changed the shagged head bearings on the 650. Everything went really well.

Apart from the fact that two of the bolts holding the beak mudguard thingy onto the lower fork bridge were completely seized in and snapped off. Made of fecking cheese they are.

thank buggery I happened to have purchased a set of taps and dies from good ol' Lidl, a couple of months previously. I ended up having to drill out the remains and clean up the holes with a tap. the set only cost £8, and worked brilliantly. I think that was a good deal, TBH. Made what would have been a PITA job into almost a pleasure!! :D

Then I replaced that 'orrible mudguard monstrosity on the rear wheel with a Rugged Roads chain guard. What a difference that has made to the look of the bike. Well chuffed with it.

Oh, and I have modified the silencer on the left hand side by removing the end stop and some of the silencing. Happy as Larry with the result. It sounds rather less like a sewing machine now!! Deeper note and with a bit of a thumper 'blat'. Certainly nowhere near offensive. It saves me having to find the pennies to put a Remus or similar on it.
