For pure performance the new LED bulbs are amazing. I have a pair of narrow angle LED spots to give a better long range than the main beam offers. The new LED even improperly aimed makes them almost redundant.
The dip beam was dangerously high so I taped off the top 2/3 of the lens. I still had much better visibility than the correctly aligned halogen.
I've sorted out the headlamp up/down adjustment and trimmed a few mm off the heat sinks. They rub the cover rings on lowest beam setting.
I've not found a suitable rubber boot to cover the bulbs all are too big and there is no flange to clip them over. The rubber gloves will do until I can get some polyurethane or maybe cut up some old rain trousers.
I've decided to keep the OEM H7 connectors inside the headlight. I might need to go back to bulbs.
The wires to the 3-wire connector plug are short so extending them and fitting a connector block for the new H7 plugs. Maybe someone can get the plug/socket connectors BMW use, but meantime it's fiddly soldering.

It's all now back on the bike. I've extended the headlamp connector lead and spliced in two H7 bulb connectors.
The dip beam aim looks good so should be great.
When the headlamp is set at its lowest angle the bulb heat sinks do catch the casing. They do seem to angle the beams a bit high so I've turned the heat sinks down a bit. No more rubbing.

Thanks for the info. I found some H7 headlight bulbs on eBay that appear to have the drivers built into them. Has anyone tried these...

hmmm - maybe the heat sink is too big for the opening on the headlight unit ?
for £20 though worth a punt to test ?

I have ordered this bulbs led from ebay website..I can tell you that this item is rubbish because I have used them in my jeep yes look very good but when they heat up the light gets dime ..most good quality led headlights have a cooling fan..Nighteye do not have any cooling system. In my opinion do not buy I have to return for a refund because of this problem I hope this helps people who are looking for good quality. Led headlights...bulbs

On the heat sink size front, what about the bulbs that use what looks like folded earth straps to dissipate heat? Would help with the fouling on the casing issues?
