Any body fitted the OE BM head light protector ??

At about £80 it's on a par with most of the touratwat stuff.

:beerjug:

Thanks for the link :thumb

Ummmm think I'll stick to my original plan of getting some plastic cut from a specialist near me and mount it myself.

Any body ever used the headlight protection film stuff that you cut and stick on ??? I'm not sure how well it works ??

A new light is about £800 :eek !!!

I've got some helicopter tape, but not sure how hot the headlamp will get:nenau

Not sure but tapping on the LED glass? It feels like plastic, definitely not glass in my view. But I may be wrong.

Yes - I think you're right. I can actually (just) see it flex a bit if I really push my thumb into it. I still think at £800 you'd be daft not to try and protect it a bit.
I do quite a bit of close riding with other bikes and will be taking it off road. I've already broken the light on my GSA :blast

yeah, not bad! Still bloody ugly though!

As the light is quite goochy it's a shame to hide it away, but you're right - the NN protector is really ugly !

Thanks .. :beerjug:

Does the LED headlight have any incandescent bulbs in it (high beam maybe). If not it should run fairly cool, making the film an option.

A film may protect against the impact of bugs but anything that you're wanting to protect against stones being thrown up from a rear wheel of a leading bike is going to need to be a bit more substantial I should think.

Just ordered this .... 7-10 day delivery from touratech. The BMW one looks a bit naff ....in my humble opinion !!:D

Looks Ok. But please don't believe the lead times they are quoting.:rob:comfort:blast

Cheers , are they crap at delivery times ??? :nenau:tears

:D :D :D :D
i could say " slow boat from China " but the slow boat would get in first, if TT are up to there old standard :eek

Placed an order for TT zega pro panniers and rack 2 weeks after ordering the bike.
They are now sat at Rainbow waiting to be fitted to the new bike when it arrives complete with free locks and inner bags.

Placed an order for BMW tank bag and crash bars at the same time as I ordered the bike.

Bikes due in on 21st May delivery to me on 25th June I've been advised that the Tank bag and crash bars are both on back order with no firm date for their arrival.

venture shield

it appears venture shield off headlight protction as part of the LC kit,,,?

its great stuff and Ive used on the S1000RR but the nwith the LED headlight ? will it run hot??

Venture shield will be fine, I had it on the headlight of my rallye and use it on the headlight of the zx12r.

Good stuff and wont yellow over time, the only issue imho is that it might not stop the headglight smashing if hit with a enough force but it will hold it all together.
