I don't have any knowlege of these, but I would be put off by the use of AAA batteries. AA would be much better.

these will attach to most things tent poles, handle bars, around your wrist or head with no bulky straps so it will go in your pocket when not in use.
go for the 4 bulb version it has 3 power settings theyre on ebay for about £18

i have one like this. very good, but does run on 3 of the less easily available AAA batteries.

not too much of a problem, i only change them once a year

Overpriced

Don't buy from them....they overprice massivel.y I have one of these and it does what the Tikka does for less than half the price. I had just such a headtorch as you and it packed in from getting a bit of sand in the switch. Tikka rubbish!!! And you can get AAA anywhere so everyone stop berating AAA!!!!!!

I believe that Black Diamond has a good reputation. I use a Silva L1, not cheap but it throws out a lot of light and is great for running and mountain biking.

Depends what you want it for. If it's just for a bit of light while camping then probably a cheapo will do.

I took it a very very very big sand pit and abused it horribly. Kinda works now I've taken it apart though.

Take a look at the current Trail magazine as they have just done tests/reviews on head tourches.

I was browsing through the magazines the other day in WH Smith and noticed the reviews but can't remember whats what.

Internal battery last ages and the kit is very robust.
