Head Lights

I am progressing nicely with my 03 1150GS rebuild and now starting to think ahead towards the headlights.

I gather from other threads that the standard fit lights are pretty crap. Therefore what are the options to replace them.

Has anybody junked the headlights and made their own brackets etc and fitted aftermarket replacements. I not thinking of auxillary lights but the high and low beam units.

I would like to keep the original front cover and screen etc A well engineered modification could save me from trawling around on Fleabay for a second hand BMW unit only to discover they are crap.

Thoughts and ideas would be gratefully recieved as always.

Some time ago, I had a trawl around the local scrappy for alternative headlight units without success. Couldn't find anything as small as the main beam unit. Didn't somebody from ADVRider put Kawasaki lights on his?

Depends on your budget I guess...

I have HID Dipped beam...works well and easy to fit...

I see what you've done there CC.

I was thinking more along the lines of replacing the whole lot and not just the bulbs.

I'll try the ADV site and have a brain storming session over a glass of KEO
