I can't for the life of me separate the header form the LH silencer. I've managed to get them off the bike together during the engine removal, but I'd like to separate them to make re-installation somewhat easier.

Have been soaking it all in penetrant and smacking the hell out of it to try and release the clamp and get some movement between the 2 parts, have also had some heat (from a heat gun rather than a torch). The nut is wound back from the clamp, but the bolt and spacers seem pretty rusted solid so are unlikely loosening their grip on the pipe.

There's a spot of weld on the clamp that looks like it's holding the clamp to the silencer feed pipe - I'm not sure if that is normally welded of it is was done during a previous ownership for some reason or another. If it's not normal, maybe that spot of weld has penetrated deeper and is also holding the 2 parts together?

Any suggestions, short of cutting something off, or just living with it being stuck and struggling to put it back on as-is.

The heat from a heat gun won't be hot enough, bolt it back on and get it really hot by running the engine then try........mind yer hands!:D
