Heading to India next week

I think he has been abducted by Aliens .......................
but look on the bright side ... Saravanaa Bhavan have now opened a restaurant in Tallaght , Dublin .... and it's f'n delicious !!!! (Google is your friend , have been down twice now on the "free" train !!)

Arrived back home this morning after a pretty much sleepless overnight journey. Still a tad wrecked and back in to work tomorrow morning. Apologies for the dearth of updates, but we were on the go non stop. Between sightseeing, wedding activities, being hosted by the family, shopping, and throwing up, free time was quite sparse. I'll get to writing a few paragraphs over the next few days. Suffice to say it was a spectacular assault on the senses in every way. Watch this space. 👍

I do like a nice Indian, even if it's vege, but why, if they're the "world's no1 Indian vegetarian restaurant chain", do they do Chinese food as well :blast

In your own time Sean :augie

They don't , BUT they do things like Gobi Manchurian - which is a chineese style of Indian cooking used in South India. Chineese it's NOT !
Trust me - this place is 110% , why else would I travel for 6.5 hours just to eat !! ??
My Nephew turned his nose up (ref no meat) , when I took him to one in London (there are 5 or 6 threre) , after about the 3rd bite - his tune changed !

I'll have to bow to your superior knowledge Alan but when I see fried rice, noodles & "from our Chinese wok" I tend to think of Chinese rather than Indian cooking
I suppose the proof is in the eating, I'll just have to make a plan to visit them...

I shall await the report !

New Dehli is simply a means of going to Agra to the see the Taj Mahal. Our transport to and from Agra consists of small minibus - 3 to 4 hrs each way to the Taj Mahal. Then it's onto Mumbai on the Monday where it will be considerably warmer, especially for Irish folk. No intention of driving - I'll leave that to the locals as I don't have the required deathwish. Won't deny I'm a little nervous, but also greatly excited to see such a wonderful change of culture.
There is a service station half way from Delhi to Agra.

We were warned and did not buy, eat or drink anything from the place, but other foreigners/expats that we knew when we lived there had suffered dreadfully.

I can't recall the name but I guarantee the minibus will stop there, because the driver gets a kick-back (or not, in our case, and he asked us outright why we would not buy anything - we made it up with a tip)

EDIT, maybe the warning is too late, sorry

We did indeed stop along the way, quite possibly the same place. Was just for the ladies to attend the toilet facilities. So, bullet dodged. 👍
