Does anyone know who maufactures a headlamp protecter for an '09 GS 1200 other than Touratech? I am specifically looking for one that 'scotch locks' on to the headlamp as opposed to one that sits inches off the headlamp.

Looks similar the one my mate got from Nippys. First trip out, a stone cracked a chunk off the side of it.:eek: No other damage on the bike or what was left of the sheild. :nenau Told him he should have bought the BMW one :D

So in other words, your mates h/l protector did its job and saved his £240 headlamp from damage, yet you would have him buy a much more expensive item which would have done the same job and possible suffered the same result......:nenau

It's easy spending other peoples money.......:augie

What your mate needs is a Headlamp Protector Protector.... :D:D

Have you tried it at night? My experience of that type of protector is, that without an "eyebrow" over the top of it - it throws a lot of light back at you from the headlight. :nenau

Caja Sahel do a plastic-coated steel item see here.........., which should fend off the odd half-brick - thrown while navigating the worst housing schemes............ :)

Al :)

Yes, I have. :thumb2
Because it is virtually up against the glass, there is no light thrown about unlike the BMW/TT/every other type that sits off the lense.

I suppose that's ok if you want to keep stray cows or sheep off your headlamp..........:augie

I had one of the protectors shown in the picture from ebay £17. Looks nice but riding in the dark was hopeless as it seemed to reduce the power of the headlight and spread the beam all over the place. Sold mine on ebay within the fortnight.
