Can anyone suggest any way of loosening the round black covers over the headlight bulbs? I have found it impossible to turn them just using my fingers - and yes, I am trying anti-clockwise!:augie

Also, in trying to loosen them I noted the part below had dropped on the ground. Any ideas as to where it may fit?

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Wear a pair of 'marigolds', they will give you extra grip when trying to turn stuborn objects. Failing that a pair of water pump pliers should do the trick.
Do not know what the mystery object is.

Its just as easy to take the headlamp unit off. Two bolts and Less fiddly :thumb2

Many thanks for all the responses. Rubber gloves did the trick along with my slow recognition of the fact that it only needed to turn about an 8th of a turn.:blast

The part was indeed from the back of the clocks - slipped right in. That is something that even the BMW dealer couldn't help me with!

Don't forget to remove the plugs too!

When I fitted the HID kit I removed the whole assembly - amazed at how easy it was to do. Did the whole job (removal and re-fit) in the dark (did the HID install in my house tho!).
