the handbook is suitably vague-has anyone adjusted their headlights for travel in europe? and if so how?

Some people say to use black tape to mask off an area of the headlamp but I wouldn't bother. Just spent ten days touring France, Germany Switzerland etc. etc. with no problems at all.

I have a HID dip beam and expected lots of flashes from oncoming traffic. But ziltch - no flashes or upset drivers.

Rode my standard 57 plate GS around Europe for 2 years and this year new GSA - never did anything to lights and no problems. Didn't ride much at night though! In fact never stuck anything on my earlier 1200RT on which I rode for 5 years with several trips to EU.
Safe riding,
Mike

Rode in France last year had been off the ferry 40 mins and got pulled by local plod - suposedly to check papers - he also checked my front headlight (didnt say anything but he did give the whole bike thorough check) I had used the BMW template and stuck a piece of black gaffer tape on the light so everything was cool.
