Headlight swap

I'm toying with swapping the headlight to a round one, I know it will change the look and will need to mod the screen etc I have HID on dip but not on main. There was a thread on ADV with a F800gs with a round headlight and a steel protector rim on the outside edge but I cant find the thread anymore
Has anyone swapped lights out?
