evening all, I have come to the conclusion that the lights on my 2008 gs adv are at the best CRAP :blast. I,m sure I;m not the only one. can anyone shed any LIGHT :D ha ha get it on how to improve this situation.

The headlight doesnt lift main beam high enough above dip beam so more light will make the distant road appear even darker - same effect as running the BMW fogs on unlit roads.

Some high power spots lamps switched by the main beam circuit could be aimed to give light where its needed. LED spot lamps could also be wired with a dimmer.

I have a pair of Les' 55w HIDs in my 1200GS. I also have 2 CREE spotlights and 2 55w halogen spots wired in with the main beam (via a relay obviously).

I don't need any more light pointing forward. I could maybe do with a pair of low level fogs pointing out at 45 degrees to the bike for deer spotting at night (on a seperate switch of course).

I quick call to Les for a pair of 55w HIDs (fast bright on main beam) would be the best start for you. Don't forget the ballast mounting bracket :D

+1 for les :thumb2

Just received and fitted my kit. It looks top quality down to the smallest detail. Have not ridden yet, but a quick test in the garage was impressive to say the least :clap.

...and the Les is a very kind guy to deal with, quick, gentle and reliable.

Quick, gentle and reliable?????? Les, did you just do the lights or take him from behind :) :) around the back of the garage
