Heated grip failure

The left hand grip on my 800 no longer heats up, I understand its a common fault, caused by pulling the bike up onto the centre stand - I've tried to be careful doing this since I read about it, but obviously not careful enough!

My query then - what needs to be done - does the grip need replacing, is it a wiring job, or what?

I'm watching a replacement grip on eBay, if that's what I need, just wanted to check!

Replace the grip, it's a doddle. Got one for my mates and it took about 15 minutes.
Some of this parish have stripped the grip down and repaired the broken track on the pcb, probably more hassle than its worth.
