I have a 2018 R1200GSA LC with TFT.
The heated grips are possibly better than any others I've had on other bikes in all but one respect... Their "variability". Switch #1 is warm, but sometimes not QUITE warm enough. Switch #2 could cook a steak. There appears no middle ground.

My bike was in for service this week and I was loaned a 1250 GS because I had to leave the bike on day 1, witness in court day 2 and pick my bike up day 3.
Because of the great British "summer", on the way back down to pick up my bike, I went to switch on the heated grips and realised that the new or current software allows for a graduated increase in heat rather than "meh" or "OUCH!".

I asked the service manager if that software was available to be updated onto all machines (the "hillstart assist" was/is available to be loaded to even LCD instrument bikes, as I presume other software tweaks are) but he appears to not know.

Does anyone know if other TFT equipped bikes have had the control change that I describe - or does anyone know of a contact at BMW that I could ask about it?.

I have a June 21 built GSA and the heated grip settings are the same as my 2018 bike. I think the variable heat setting is availbe with the heated seat option.
