Heated Grip Woes

Hi Guys,
Ok I have an R1100GS, having a prob with the heated grips. With the rocker switch depressed on the left I get no heat at all, and with the switch depressed on the right I get moderately warm, have checked the connections on the back of the switch, was a little suprised to find the connections hard wired to the switch (soldered), the connections are good. Where else should I be looking and what could be possible problem.

Ps A new battery which became a necessary purchase recently sorted the ABS as predicted by most so thanks for that to.

mmmh well on other heated grips with only 2 settings one setting puts the grips into series connection and the other setting connects them in parallel, one gives more heat than the other, im sure the parellel gives the most power so the most heat. So the switch or connections might be failing in one of the settings ?!

Try checking where the wires connect to the main loom. On the 1150, this is under the front of the tank, and they are just simple push-fit connecters which are open to corrosion which can cause the problems you are suffering.

Not sure if the connectors are the same on the 1100 but its worth a try.
