Heated grips improvement

Bought my Feb 2014 bike in March this year & concurred with the masses - heated grips shite! Had the engine and gearbox changed & now running into colder mornings, the heated grips are toasty! Not sure if the new engine has more alternator capacity coupled with a software upgrade at engine swap but caulk & cheese. Anyone else experienced this?

I think they have put all the left over 2014 grips on the XR
