Heated Grips - Intermittent working

I noticed yesterday on a long trip that my grips seem to stop working.

Oddly enough this problem seems worse on the hot setting than the warm one.

presumably this is a loose connection which needs investigating but are there any common problem places before I start ripping it all to pieces.

It might be a coincidence, but I put some muffs on the bike a few weeks ago. . .

Any tips appreciated

If it's working on the low setting but not the high setting i'd suspect the switch.

Thanks for the tip Steptoe, I took the switch pieces apart and gave them a good clean with some brake cleaner and the problem seems to have disappeared. Ta, for the tip.

In the meantime I've added a heated vest that I bought from Michel to my wardrobe, it's very toasty!
