Last night I accidently switched the 1150's heated grips on. When I turned them off nothing happened. by the time I got home the old hands were extremely hot.
I had to remove the fuse to ride to work.
My mate tells me this is probably due to a relay but has no idea which relay it might be.
Anybody know which relay or have a better idea?

Heated grips in september? What is the world coming to...............

Or you swiched the swich from side to side, not between? Middle is off, left is medium-heat, right is maximum-heat.

the solution;
tie wrap some waffles to the grips.
the added padding gives greater comfort, removes any unwanted vibrations and.....
by the time you get to work - you've a tasty breakfast snack :thumb

glad to have helped ;)

Not on an 1150 - they have a proper switch :thumb

heated grip not working

I seem to have stopped my Oxford grips from working (this is on my other bike, an ST1300, not the GS1150)

Fitted battery connection for my Gerbing heated jacket last week, and added a lead for a cigar style power outlet. All seemed very straightforward.

Both these seem to work, However now the heated grips don't work at all.

Fuse looks OK. No other devices running to draw power.

No evidently disconnected leads. (BTW the grips are wired via the lighting crcuit so only come on when lights switched on).

What should i check next?

Thanks

Simon
