Heated Grips

Need some advice here Tosser's please, can aftermarket grips be fitted to the 1200 canbus system, or would it be the BMW route to warm hands in winter. Please don't mention those heated gloves as there is a story behind them... painfully.

Spill the beans then! IMO between gloves or grips gloves are warmer as my finger ends & back of my hands can get cold. Grips are better than nowt though

Plugged them in and started ridin' then could'nt switch them off. They were faulty teach me to buy old crap. . I don't think I could stand the cold that far north Big Lee Dave

Can-bus is easy to bypass simply by wiring them direct to the battery with an in line fuse.
It is also quite easy to include a relay that is operated by the Can-bus therefore switching off the battery fed wires a few minutes after the ignition is switched off, therefore taking away any worries of leaving the grips on and returning to a flat battery. Just link/attach the relay to the under seat power socket.

I had this dilemma,looked hard at the beemer bars and couldn't be sure if aftermarket would fit.I finally went the expensive(£257) bmw route,everything fits,the wirings there already,you just need to get them enabled at your friendly bm store and away you go!
