Does anybody know how to test the BMW heated waistcoat for faults? Mine stopped working today even though the low and high - lights still light up there no heat coming through. Is there a simple way to test the controller? Once I got home I tried it on a test light and there is one live wire out of 4.
At least then I'll know where the problem is even though it's out of warranty. This is the 4th time it's failed but the first out of warranty. Any help will be much appreciated.

The cables break where they go into the connector on the jacket, poor design. I mended mine by removing the connector and replacing it with permanent soldered connections. Works fine for me.

My older style one failed above the plug and I just cut the liner, found the break and repaired. Just a bit of fault finding with a multimeter as stated. My lead has also failed a couple of times and needed fixing.

My lead failed cos it got dragged down the A40 for a mile!!
You can buy a replacement lead from BMW dealer. Not cheaply, obviously!
