OK so I know the clutch on my F800GS isn't really heavy compared to some bikes. Thing is, I have arthritis in the fingers on my left hand and do find that the cable clutch on the 800GS is considerably less comfortable to use on a longer run than the hydraulic one was on my old 1150GS.

Any thoughts on good ways to lighten the pull needed on the 800GS clutch or do I just have to live with it? I doubt there's a suitable hydraulic conversion kit (although some googling will follow soon).

Cheers

Have a look on the Magura site. I've seen 1 bike with a hydraulic conversion and its a very neat job. Most of the stuff he used was Magura. Might be worth a search on Google.

Just had a look on the Twalcom site - they list a Magura kit so that's your first port of call

Thanks for the suggestions. I saw the Magura kit quoted on a US site for $370!!! so that puts it out of my reach at the moment. I shall have to go on googling and see if a 2nd hand one comes up one day.

Have you lived the cable to make sure it's not binding at all?

Well I had the dealer look at it during the 12k service and they said the clutch, lever and cable were all operating as normal. I suspect it's just me.

A small vacuum servo could be connected to the clutch arm and switched with a microswitch.
A turbocharger service company might be able to help - somewhere that does lorry sized equipment. The dump valves use vacuum or air operated servos.
