Hi All,

Just interested to get some real world feedback on mileage expectation for rear K60.

Any one clocked their mileage over 3 or 4 pairs over varied use ?

Ie :- commuting, touring, etc and what is the average mileage expectation on an

1150 GSA ?

Cheers

About 6½k on commuting and shortish trips with a bit of enthusiasm. >10k on a month long tour with "mostly" steady speeds and over 1k on gravel/dirt roads. I can also say that if the front feels a bit vague during a 100 mile section of high speed bend swinging it will be because there is only 10psi in the front tyre. :)

That was a 1150GS not a GSA. Virtually no difference between the bikes unless you have the originally optional big tank.

Jeezus christ how do you manage mileage like that ffs.

I am staggered it is that LOW - I was hoping to see people reporting 10,000 - 12,000, AT LEAST, so it would be at least on a par with Tourances...Over 200,000 miles on Tourances I have got between 13,000 (lowest) and 15,200 from the rear tyre. The front has always been as close to shot as doesn't matter, so always replaced as a pair. I have been considering K60s, but seeing how low these mileages are I shall be thinking very carefully again.

I didn't get many more miles out of sets of original European manufactured Tourances either. It depends on the kind of riding that you tend to do. Up here in Scotland we have lots of small curvy roads that have blind corners and short straights. That has you on the power or the brakes a lot of the time and few periods of steady cruising. That takes a toll of any tyre. Tourance EXP's don't do as many miles and Next's are about the same as the original except that the front tends to be knackered before the back, probably because of the dual compound rear.

I wouldn't opt for K60's as road only tyres, not as forgiving in the wet, noisy and the bike moves around on the blocks when pressing on through corners although you do get used to that. Perhaps take a look at the Heidi website, more road orientated tyres available.

Sounds like I shall be sticking with Tourances again then! I would like something that gives good road mileage (10,000 minimum) and is reasonable for tackling tracks.
