I have been offered a HG Tuareg suit in very good condition.
did they have a good reputation?it looks well made.
What's is worth? I've no idea what they cost new.
Thanks

I think a number of people on this site have them, so the answer is probably 'yes', However ... we both had Tuareg trousers from a faulty batch circa 2009 and they leaked horribly in heavy rain - to the point that you found yourself sitting in a small swimming pool of varying temperature. :eek To be fair, Hein Gericke took them back and gave us a full refund. I used the money to replace them with the updated 'TWG' trousers and haven't had any issues.

ETA I think the trousers cost in the region of £150, though that might have been a slightly discounted price. Didn't buy the jacket but I think it would have been around the £300 mark.

I'm still wearing my Tuareg jacket 9 years and many thousands of miles later, warm enough for teeshirt only most of the time for short trips <11/2 hrs and has never let any water through (except down the neck when in traffic during a deluge ) the forearms are starting to look like wool where they rub against stuff but other than that it has been more than worth the money and is my "go to" jacket. :likeit

Depends which Tuareg suit???? There's been several versions, the MkII was the best imo and I still wear them for travelling, particularly the trousers.

Leather bum and knees, 2 thigh pockets one for passport the other for baccy.

good question ,how ould I know? black and offwhite with leather arm and shoulder patches MKII?

As long as the trousers don't look like these, you're probably ok. :thumby:

I have the suit, but don't know what version. What I do know is mine has the waterproof liner, which makes no sense at all in an Irish summer. Apart from that happy enough with it, just never take the liner out
